"Schrödinger`s 1931-32 problem and the dynamics of the stochastic processes solving it."

Beginn: 16:15 Uhr
Ort: HS 1.04, VSP 1

Abstract:

At the end of a paper reflecting the knowledge of his time on the relativistic theory of the electron (Section 7 in the 1932 French version) Schrödinger presented an analogy between elementary Quantum Mechanics (QM) and some unorthodox problems of classical Statistical Physics. We shall describe the (geometric) dynamics of the stochastic processes solving this analogy, regarded as the first "Euclidean" approach to elementary QM. In the last 10 years, this framework provided new tools in Mass Transportation theory and applications (Medical imaging, Economics,...) but we believe that it has also some future regarding, in particular, the foundations of Nonequilibrium Statistical Physics.
